Atlas Concrete – Silverdale Plant Expansion

Kiwi Civil was contracted to install two gravity block retaining walls and an access road to link the batch plant to the crushing plant. The project was completed in a tight space with some steep slopes, but a job well done and a happy end client.

11KV Switchroom Civil Works _ Drainage Diversion

The project started off as the bulk excavation project, to enable the construction of an HV switch room within the Rosedale Wastewater treatment plant but quickly grew from an earthworks job to a full civil works contract. Following the earthworks we then went on to complete the stormwater drainage, all utility ducting required, and landscaping.

Watercare – Rosedale MLE4 & PST7 Structures Backfill

General structure drainage and bulk backfill to the two newly-constructed concrete structures (MLE4 and PST7) as part of the Rosedale WWTP liquid stream upgrade. The project included almost 4000m3 of bulk backfill against the new structures while working in tight quarters.

Rawiri Stream Bridge 1 & 2 Abutment Works

Kiwi Civil was engaged for the abutment construction for two footbridges as part of the The Rawiri stream rehab project. Works consisted of 14 RC piles and columns per bridge (28off total), abutment beams & wing wall construction. Working on a challenging site next to a stream with a high water table made things tricky, but good planning and robust environmental processes contributed to the success of the project.

Rosedale WWTP – Biofilter Construction

Kiwi Civil was engaged by Fulton Hogan for the construction of Biofilter cells 5 & 6. The project was completed by the team from start to finish to the highest standards. Works consisted of approx. 300m3 of material excavated and removed off site, 105m3 of concrete formed and poured, 16t of steel tied on site, 17 precast wall panels installed and 300 20 series blocks laid. Due to good planning and a solid quality process put in place the project was completed with a perfect H&S record and no remedials required.

Rosedale WWTP – Thermal Hydrolysis Integration Works

Construction of two retaining walls to support the entrance and exit roads for the new dewatering building above. Retaining wall one consisted of a piled foundation below and reinforced columns and capping beam construction atop to support an existing wall & Retaining wall two consisted of a reinforced concrete footing foundation with a 25 series block retaining wall above.

Stevenson’s Concrete – Ranui Plant Construction

Kiwi Civil was engaged to construct all the civil and structural works as part of the new Stevenson concrete plant installation in Ranui. The project consisted of all civil and structural aspects of the wedge pit, wash bays and toro jet construction, construction of envirocon aggregate bins, and all service ducting to enable the new plant to run.

Watercare – Thermal Hydrolysis Enabling Works Package

The project consisted of the Installation of all environmental controls by the way silt ponds clean and dirty water diversion bunds silt fencing etc.. Installation of all site haul roads and laydown areas, approx. 7000m2 of Bulk topsoil stripping, construction of two 300mm thick stone column piling platforms, Installation and removal of 3,200m3 of preload material atop the completed ground improvements, a 6000m3 Bulk excavation to enable the construction retaining walls and a site vehicle access way, a 9,000m3 Bulk backfill with imported materials to required design levels, Backfilling of the two trickling filters following demolition, Backfilling the newly constructed retaining walls, construction of 2000m2 of site vehicle access ways, Installation of site wide drainage, Installation of a 7,500m2 site wide capping layer

Weiti Bridge (Milldale) – Site Works package

Kiwi Civil Limited was contracted by Fulton Hogan to install a 500m long access road, to enabling the construction of the new Weiti bridge (Gateway to Milldale) other than the access road we removed four redundant piles (Northern and southern abutments) and install two 1200mm thick Grid reinforced crane pads at both the Northern and Southern abutment. (Approx. 1,300m3 of GAP65

Weiti Bridge (Milldale) – Southern abutment recon wall Construction

Kiwi Civil was contracted for the construction of two Recon, gravity block retaining walls to support the entrance and exit roads for the new Milldale, Weiti Bridge. Retaining wall A consisted of a piled foundation below a Recon gravity block wall, the wall was tied back using a grid and has a max retained height of 5.5m high.

Retaining wall B was much smaller but also consisted of a concrete foundation with Recon gravity blocks above.
